PermalinkHi Grow Stuff, I love the work you are doing and would like to get involved as a coder volunteer and tester on a casual basis. I have a IT Background but not a coder Would also like to request if Grow Stuff is planning to enable the following features
1)Moon Planting 2)Visual Garden Designer ( i.e using HTML5 Canvas ) that will allow Gardners and/or small hobby farmers to setup there garden plots and drag and drop veggies/fruit from the catalogue
thanks Jabir

Hi greenlabs!
We have definitely talked about a visual garden designer, but it's far down the road at present – unless anyone comes along who is really interested in working on it and wants to take a shot sooner :)
As for moon planting, I don't think it fits very clearly with what we're doing here – we're mostly about recording what people are doing in their gardens, and then using that information (in aggregate) to provide planting tips to others. We don't generally say "you should do X" with any sort of voice of authority, we say "here's what other people are doing". So in effect, if other people are following moon planting, then that will filter through in the advice (eg. "people near you are planting leaf crops this week"), but the system itself wouldn't be like, "it's new moon, plant leaf crops".
I see you've already found your way over to the developer discussions on http://talk.growstuff.org/ so that's a good place to get involved with our dev practices. You can find more information about what we're working on on our wiki and issue tracker.
